Post Tab
To Follow:
- Syempre, yung Multiple JavaSpaces pa rin... hehe.
- Bullet (Baka tanggalin ko na lang to)
- Yung Hyperlink na button, di ayos.
- Tapos yung style na comboBox.

After a few months of blog-hibernation...
We have included more features in our application. Some of it are as follows:
1) Versioning. A post can have different versions now and backtracking to older version is a breeze.
2) Drafts. Users can now save and view their drafts more conveniently.
3) Interface. The Graphical Users' Interface has been made more organized for pleasant browsing.
4) Running Time. By reducing the time being spent by the program on searching for a JavaSpace and a TransactionManager, we have drastically made the program faster.
5) Actions and Warnings. Users are not left guessing on what the system is doing. The current action being performed is displayed in the status bar. Also, warnings are displayed on certain user violations or plain system errors.
6) Searching. We are currently developing a searching algorithm by which the application returns the result of the search based on the context of its keywords. We are already finding ways on how to streamline the running time of the algorithm.

Update
We are finished with our project.
Hell yeah!
Currently, we are already two-thirds-way our progress report to be submitted this Tuesday.
Regarding our program there's some progress from the last time we posted.
a. Home - This part can already display the user's post in the 'Your Posts' section. Though, some fields are still blank.
b. Archives/Browse - The search filters, by Author and by Text are already working. We still have problems regarding the by Title filter. Also, our search engine currently only returns results that are exactly the same as the search query.
c. Post - The user can already save drafts of his posts.
We encountered a really annoying problem in using the Inca X IDE. The IDE can't detect the JavaSpace and Transaction Services sometimes.
~Tapos na sana kami, kaya lang hindi pa.

Overnight at JRDC? Anyone?
When do we plan to hold our overnights? There's only about a month left before this sem is over. I guess we should be in our programming phase already, that's according to our Gantt Chart. x____x
By this time, we should have done the following:
(c) 1 Submitted the Proposal
(x) 2.Submitted ERD etc
(?) 3. Researched about Jini and JavaSpace
(?) 4. Researched on networking
(c) 5. Design of the program
*c = done, x = not done, ? = not quantifiable

Presentation
Sir Feria says, "I need you to create your presentations in Flash (slides and voiceover) so that we can download it and view it asynchronously. Deadline is noon, thisWednesday. The presentations should not be less than 15 minutes and not more than 25. Iexpect everyone to view the presentations and post their comments here."
Anyone here who knows how to do Flash Presentations? x_x
According to Sir Feria, "Abstract - this contains a brief intro about your research inclusive of the issues you aresolving and your proposed solutions."
I think we have to redo our Abstract. I passed our original, unedited Abstract. So probably it needs an overhaul.
I don't get what a "prototype" means. Would the GUI part of our program be enough?
Please do update our blog if there are things you need to share with us.
To Sir Feria: Please comment on our posts so that we would know if we are going on track. THANKS!! =)

Inca X
Hello thesis mates! I found this IDE for jini. You can download the program from here (yung 18MB). Then you should download the Jini Starter Kit from www.jini.org. The IDE requires Jini 2.0 so you have to download Jini v 2.0.2
Anyway, I have stored the installers in my flash drive so I can just share it with you on Wednesday.
So far, I've been trying to decipher and test the sample codes included in the IDE which has a particular interest on JavaSpace. I hope to get it right soon.
By the way, if there are additional features that you wish to add in our program, you may manipulate the GUI that I sent you. E.g., you may add menu items in the menu bar or buttons in the toolbar or you may overhaul everything :). We should not limit our imagination on what features we should add in our program. Also, please send suggestions on how the Home Tab should look like.
Thanks and God Bless our Thesis!

Group Name Suggestion + More Resources
Duh! Dami palang books regarding JavaSpaces and Jini. Problem is, none of those (at least sa mga triny ko sa OPAC) exist in our libraries.
Anyway, i thought of a name for our group: P2Pedia. Hehehe.. suggestion lang yan, ha.. :)
Reminder: We have to pass "as soon as possible" our Thesis Proposal.
