Overnight at JRDC? Anyone?

When do we plan to hold our overnights? There's only about a month left before this sem is over. I guess we should be in our programming phase already, that's according to our Gantt Chart. x____x

By this time, we should have done the following:
(c) 1 Submitted the Proposal
(x) 2.Submitted ERD etc
(?) 3. Researched about Jini and JavaSpace
(?) 4. Researched on networking
(c) 5. Design of the program

*c = done, x = not done, ? = not quantifiable

Presentation

Sir Feria says, "I need you to create your presentations in Flash (slides and voiceover) so that we can download it and view it asynchronously. Deadline is noon, thisWednesday. The presentations should not be less than 15 minutes and not more than 25. Iexpect everyone to view the presentations and post their comments here."

Anyone here who knows how to do Flash Presentations? x_x

According to Sir Feria, "Abstract - this contains a brief intro about your research inclusive of the issues you aresolving and your proposed solutions."

I think we have to redo our Abstract. I passed our original, unedited Abstract. So probably it needs an overhaul.

I don't get what a "prototype" means. Would the GUI part of our program be enough?

Please do update our blog if there are things you need to share with us.

To Sir Feria: Please comment on our posts so that we would know if we are going on track. THANKS!! =)

Inca X

Hello thesis mates! I found this IDE for jini. You can download the program from here (yung 18MB). Then you should download the Jini Starter Kit from www.jini.org. The IDE requires Jini 2.0 so you have to download Jini v 2.0.2

Anyway, I have stored the installers in my flash drive so I can just share it with you on Wednesday.

So far, I've been trying to decipher and test the sample codes included in the IDE which has a particular interest on JavaSpace. I hope to get it right soon.

By the way, if there are additional features that you wish to add in our program, you may manipulate the GUI that I sent you. E.g., you may add menu items in the menu bar or buttons in the toolbar or you may overhaul everything :). We should not limit our imagination on what features we should add in our program. Also, please send suggestions on how the Home Tab should look like.

Thanks and God Bless our Thesis!
